Bubble Habits

The habit app for people who can't form habits

About Bubble Habits

What do you do when you need reminders for absolutely everything, but a to-do list filled with fifty of those is too overwhelming? You build an app for that. Well, I did. Here it is.

(vaguely inspired by xkcd #1106)

Every habit is shown as a bubble, which grows over time as it becomes overdue. More important habits start larger, and more urgent habits grow faster. That way, it becomes very clear that the largest bubbles are the ones that need your attention first.

The bubble habits come in different types: Those that count how often you do the thing (think “check email 1x per day”), and those that measure time spent (like “study 3h per week”). For the latter, there is a built-in timer which starts as soon as you select the habit, shows your progress, and can be freely paused, closed, and then resumed. Of course, you can time anything, in case you like statistics.

Scheduling is very flexible. You can set up daily, weekly, monthly or yearly habits. Each habit is scheduled evenly over its remaining available time. Take for example “declutter something 3x per week”: If you do the first decluttering on Monday, you will see it again on Wednesday; but if you do the first on Friday, the second will be due on Saturday. In the end, all that matters is that you get your 3x decluttering done by the end of the week! Of course, manual rescheduling is easy, too.

Pro features

There's also a Pro mode with some extra features. I can't stand subscription models, so you can buy it in the app. Once. Pro stays unlocked on your Google account.

Or, if you just want to try it, you can watch an ad and unlock Pro for five minutes!
